TPX/Polymethylpentene (PMP)

TPX is a high-performance, transparent polyolefin resin based on 4-methylpentene-1 (PMP – polymethylpentene), manufactured solely by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. It offers a unique combination of high heat resistance (Vicat softening point up to 185°C), superior optical clarity (light transmittance >90%), and the lowest specific gravity (0.833) among all polymers. With its excellent release properties, chemical resistance, and outstanding dielectric characteristics, TPX is an ideal choice for replacing PC or PMMA in demanding applications such as release films, LED molds, sterilization containers, semiconductor tools, and cosmetic packaging.
