描述

Fortron ICE 716A is a linear, semi-crystalline, flame retardant polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) grade reinforced with 65% mineral and glass fiber . This grade belongs to Celanese’s ICE (Improved Crystallization Evolution) product family, featuring faster crystallization rates and improved processing efficiency for reduced cycle times .

Fortron ICE 716A is the faster crystallizing version of Fortron 6165A6, offering similar characteristics with improved crystallization efficiency and reduced cycle time . The ICE technology enables faster cycle times while maintaining the outstanding mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and thermal stability expected from high-performance PPS.

As a linear, semi-crystalline PPS, Fortron ICE 716A is relatively impermeable to gases, hydrocarbons, and other liquids compared to other materials . It provides good flow, high dimensional stability, low coefficient of friction, low shrinkage, excellent mechanical properties, creep resistance at high temperatures, a high continuous use temperature (160°C to 240°C), and very low moisture absorption .

This grade offers high hardness, high rigidity, and excellent heat resistance under load bearing conditions . It exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion, hydrolysis, oxidation, and paraffin buildup  and shows excellent chemical resistance to all solvents below 200°C, acids, bases, typical and alternative automotive fuels, and petroleum fluids at elevated temperatures .
