描述

Fortron 4184L6 is a 53% mineral and glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) injection molding grade from Celanese Corporation. This grade is the easier flow version of Fortron 4184L4, offering similar mechanical characteristics with improved flow for thin-walled parts requiring long flow lengths .

The high filler content of 53% (combined mineral and glass) provides exceptional mechanical properties, rigidity, and low creep, making it ideal for high-load applications while maintaining excellent dimensional stability. The improved flow characteristics enable the molding of complex thin-wall geometries with superior stiffness and dimensional control .

As a linear, semi-crystalline PPS, Fortron 4184L6 is relatively impermeable to gases, hydrocarbons, and other liquids compared to other materials. It provides high dimensional stability, low coefficient of friction, low shrinkage (0.3% parallel, 0.6% transverse) , high continuous use temperature (160°C to 240°C), and very low moisture absorption (0.02%) .

This grade exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion, hydrolysis, oxidation, heat, and paraffin buildup. It shows excellent chemical resistance to all solvents below 200°C, acids, bases, typical and alternative automotive fuels, and petroleum fluids at elevated temperatures . The material complies with RoHS, PFOS, and PFOA regulations  and is suitable for lead-free soldering and metal replacement applications .
