描述

TPX MLL411 Resin is an opaque, heat resistant, low density polymethylpentene (PMP) manufactured by Mitsui Chemicals . TPX is the trade name for poly(4-methylpentene-1), a unique olefin copolymer with a molecular structure distinct from conventional polyolefins .

This grade exhibits excellent transparency equivalent to glass and acrylic, combined with a high melting point and can be used at elevated temperatures . TPX MLL411 boasts superior releasability and is one of the lightest polymer materials among thermoplastic plastics, with a density of 834 kg/m³ . Physical property data is determined using test methods established by ISO, the globally recognized standards organization.

Critical Processing Warnings:

Injection Molding & Extrusion: TPX MLL411 is suitable for injection molding and extrusion processes, including mandrel, pipe, and profile extrusion .

Drying: Proper drying is critical to prevent hydrolysis and achieve optimal mechanical properties.

Low Shrinkage Control: TPX has a high mold shrinkage of 1.5–3.0% . Part and mold design should account for this characteristic. The mineral-filled structure promotes more uniform shrinkage behavior.

Mold Release: TPX MLL411 offers superior releasability with a surface tension of 24 mN/m , facilitating easy part ejection.

Storage: Store in original, sealed packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
