Xylan 1514 is a waterborne, PTFE-based dry film lubricant coating from Whitford Corporation (now PPG). Processing Guidelines for Xylan 1514 Coating

Xylan 1514 is designed for fasteners and general components, primarily for corrosion protection and ease of assembly torque control .

Surface Preparation Degrease (acetone or isopropanol) → grit-blast (Sa2.5, Ra 1.5–4.0 μm) → zinc/manganese phosphate (recommended for steel) 
Coating Preparation Slow-speed mechanical stirring; dilute with deionized water only
