Processing Guidelines
Escor 5110 can deliver good extrusion coating results in the temperature range of 260–280°C. Processing temperatures above 300°C may cause resin degradation.
The typical coating values are based on a coextrusion coating line with an air gap of 170 mm. To help minimize corrosion risk, exposed metal surfaces in the extruder and die should be made from corrosion-resistant metals or nickel-chrome plated.
Before introducing Escor resin, it is recommended to run LDPE with a similar or higher melt index through the extruder. Before shutdown, the machine should always be purged with LDPE or a suitable cleaning compound.
