Description

SK PRIMACOR 3340 is an EAA resin, also known as Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer. It is designed for use as an adhesive or sealant layer in extrusion coating, co-extrusion coating and extrusion lamination. This material provides excellent adhesion to paper, paperboard, metals and polyethylene, making it suitable for flexible packaging laminates, liquid packaging board laminates and multilayer composite structures.

PRIMACOR 3340 combines excellent hot-tack performance, good sealability, oil and grease resistance and low sensitivity to moisture. Compared with standard polyethylene, this EAA resin contains acrylic acid groups, which help improve adhesion to polar substrates and provide reliable bonding performance in packaging and lamination applications.

PRIMACOR 3340 can be processed under typical extrusion coating conditions. Reference processing conditions include a screw size of 3.5 inches, 30:1 L/D, die gap of 20 mil, melt temperature around 550°F or 288°C, output of 250 lb/hr and air gap of 6 inches.

For better processing stability, equipment used for this resin should be constructed with corrosion-resistant materials. Dies and adapters are recommended to be stainless steel, duplex chrome plated or nickel plated.
