描述
Fortron 1140L6 is a 40% glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) injection molding grade from Celanese Corporation. This grade is an easier flow version of Fortron 1140L4 , offering essentially the same mechanical characteristics but with improved flow for thin-walled parts with long flow lengths.
The easier flow characteristics make Fortron 1140L6 particularly suitable for thin-wall parts and injection molding applications requiring long flow paths. As a linear, semi-crystalline PPS material, it is relatively impermeable to gases, hydrocarbons, and other liquids compared to other materials. It provides high dimensional stability, low coefficient of friction, low shrinkage, excellent mechanical properties, and creep resistance at high temperatures.
This grade exhibits excellent chemical resistance to all solvents below 200°C, acids, bases, typical and alternative automotive fuels, and petroleum fluids at elevated temperatures. It also offers high hardness and rigidity at elevated temperatures for good load bearing performance, along with excellent resistance to corrosion, hydrolysis, oxidation, heat, and paraffin buildup. The material is RoHS, PFOS, and PFOA compliant.
