PLEXIGLAS 8H is a high-performance PMMA extrusion compound offering the highest melt strength in the PLEXIGLAS extrusion series. With an extremely low MVR of 0.8 cm³/10min at 230°C/3.8kg — the lowest in the PLEXIGLAS product line — it delivers maximum melt stability for demanding extrusion applications including large sheets, tubes, multi-skin sheets, and window profile coextrusion. It combines the familiar properties of PLEXIGLAS molding compounds — 92% light transmission, outstanding weather resistance, high mechanical strength, surface hardness, and mar resistance — with the highest heat resistance (Vicat 108°C) and AMECA listing.

PLEXIGLAS 8H offers optimum mechanical properties with a tensile modulus of 3300 MPa, stress at break of 78 MPa, and strain at break of 6.5%. Its extremely high melt strength ensures stable processing of complex extrusion geometries, while its excellent optical clarity and free colorability make it ideal for architectural, automotive, and technical extrusion applications. Processable on extruders with 3-zone general purpose screws for engineering thermoplastics at melt and die temperatures of 220-260°C.
