描述
Hostaform LM90 is a laser markable POM-C (Polyoxymethylene Copolymer) injection molding grade, genuinely manufactured by Celanese and imported as original product. We supply this grade as an authorized distributor / trader, ensuring full traceability and access to official Celanese technical documentation.
This grade is a nominal 9 melt flow rate acetal copolymer which is capable of being permanently marked by a laser. Parts molded from Hostaform LM90 can be laser marked with barcodes, identification numbers, designs, 2-D symbology, etc.
The “LM” designation indicates Laser Markable, making it ideal for applications requiring permanent traceability, branding, and identification on molded parts.
It is a very hard and rigid, heavy-metal free POM copolymer grade that exhibits outstanding chemical (solvents, fuels & strong alkalis)-, hydrolysis-, fatigue-, creep-, moisture- and stress cracking resistance. It also exhibits toughness (up to -40°C), good heat distortion temperature (up to 100°C), very good slip/wear properties, excellent resilience, low moisture absorption and higher stability to thermal and oxidative degradation compared to acetal homopolymers. With regular stock availability, we support both trial orders and bulk shipments.

Processing Guidelines (Injection Molding)
The following injection molding parameters are recommended for Hostaform LM90:
Parameter Recommended Setting Pre-drying Generally not required; drying is recommended if moisture is present Drying Temperature (if required) 80°C Drying Time (if required) 3 hours Max. Processing Moisture Content ≤0.35% Melt Temperature 182 – 199°C Melt Temperature (Max) Never exceed 230°C Manifold / Hot Runner Temperature 180 – 200°C Mold Temperature 82 – 93°C Injection Pressure 600 – 1200 bar Hold Pressure 600 – 1200 bar Screw Compression Ratio Minimum 3:1, preferably 4:1 Back Pressure Low back pressure (0.35 MPa / 50 PSI) Critical Processing Warnings for Hostaform LM90:
Screw Selection: Using a low compression screw (e.g., general purpose 2:1 compression ratio) can result in unmelted particles and poor melt homogeneity. A high compression screw (minimum 3:1, preferably 4:1) with low back pressure is recommended.
Thermal Degradation: POM can decompose at high temperatures, releasing formaldehyde gas. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid prolonged residence time in the barrel. Melt temperature should never exceed 230°C.
Material Purity: Strictly avoid contamination with other polymers, as this will compromise the laser markable properties and overall performance.
Regrind/Recycled Material: Adding regrind is not recommended for this specialty grade. Re-processing may degrade the laser markable properties. If necessary, use a very small percentage (<10%) only with prior validation testing.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and use sealed, original packaging when possible.
