Micromax 5444 is a platable silver termination developed for Micromax 00X0A resistors on BeO (beryllium oxide) substrates. It offers excellent post-plating adhesion, high acid resistance, thinner prints, fast firing on an 850°C/30 min profile, and a dense fired film. Cadmium, nickel, and phthalate free.

Micromax 5444 from MacDermid Alpha is a platable silver termination paste developed specifically for Micromax 00X0A resistors on BeO (beryllium oxide) substrates. It is also compatible with other substrates such as 96% alumina. The paste is co-fireable with Micromax 00X0A resistors, which allows the termination and resistor to be processed together in a single firing cycle. It provides excellent post-plating adhesion, high acid resistance, thinner prints, and a dense fired film. The formulation is cadmium, nickel, and phthalate free.

The paste has a viscosity range of 160–200 Pa.s and uses Micromax 8250 as the recommended thinner. Reported properties are based on 96% alumina and BeO substrates, printed with a 250 mesh stainless steel screen with approximately 10 μm emulsion to a dried thickness of 18 ± 2 μm. Allow prints to level at room temperature for 5–10 minutes, then dry at 150°C for 10 minutes. Fire on a 30-minute cycle with 10 minutes at a peak of 850°C. Store sealed at 5–30°C; unopened shelf life is 6 months.
