⚡ High-Density Gold Conductor for Fine-Line and High-Frequency Circuits
Micromax 5780R is a very high density gold conductor composition suitable for applications requiring high frequency and/or fine line conductor features. It offers excellent wire bond acceptance yields with 1 and 2 mil Au wire, a dense fired film, smooth surface appearance, REACH and RoHS compliance, and compatibility with Micromax Pb-free Resistor Series and Dielectric QM44.

Micromax 5780R from MacDermid Alpha is a very high density gold conductor composition developed for applications that require high frequency performance and/or fine line conductor features. It is positioned as a high reliability Au conductor for hybrid circuits where line resolution and consistent fired film quality matter. The fired film is dense with a smooth surface appearance, and the composition is compatible with Micromax Pb-free Resistor Series and Dielectric QM44. Lead, phthalate, and cadmium are not intentionally added, and the product is REACH and RoHS compliant.

The paste carries 87–89% solids and a viscosity range of 300–400 Pa.s. Micromax 8250 is the listed solvent or thinner. Reported properties are based on 96% alumina substrates. A 325 or 400 mesh stainless steel screen with 12.5 μm (0.5 mil) emulsion thickness is recommended, and printing speeds up to 15 cm/s (6 in/s) can be used. Recommended film thickness is 6–9 μm, with print resolution of 150 μm / 100 μm and theoretical coverage of 60–90 cm²/g. Allow the wet print to level 10–15 minutes at room temperature, then dry at 150°C for 15 minutes. Fire dried prints in a belt furnace on a 30-minute cycle with a peak temperature of 850°C for 10 minutes. No significant changes in performance characteristics were seen after multiple refires at 850°C. Resistivity is ≤5 mΩ/sq. Store sealed at 5–30°C; unopened shelf life is 6 months.
