Santoprene 201-80 is a soft, natural, colorable thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) from Celanese developed for a broad range of injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming and vacuum-forming applications.

Celanese describes the grade as a versatile TPV in the thermoplastic elastomer family that combines good physical properties and chemical resistance with conventional thermoplastic processing.

Unlike black-only TPV grades, Santoprene 201-80 is supplied in a natural, colorable form. This makes it especially useful where the final part must be supplied in custom colors, light shades or color-coded versions for product identification, branding or assembly management.

The grade has a current Shore A hardness of approximately 86, placing it in the firmer part of the soft-elastomer range.

Despite this relatively high Shore A hardness, Santoprene 201-80 still offers very high elongation. Current Celanese data lists approximately 540% elongation at break, together with approximately 11.1 MPa stress at break and approximately 4.7 MPa stress at 100% elongation.

This makes the material suitable for applications where the component must hold its shape more firmly than a 60A or 70A TPV but still retain substantial elastic deformation.
