描述
VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC is a semi-crystalline, heat- and UV-stabilized polyamide 12 compound from Evonik Operations GmbH reinforced with 23% glass fiber. It is developed primarily for injection-molded connectors and is especially suitable for automotive, mobility and engineering applications.
Evonik positions the LC-GF family as fiberglass-reinforced PA12 for lightweight, high-performance automotive components. The range is offered in several reinforcement levels so designers can select the required balance between stiffness, strength and flexibility. VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC is the natural-color 23% glass-fiber grade in this family.
One of the defining characteristics of VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC is the combination of reinforcement with comparatively high strain at break. Evonik describes the product as a glass-fiber-reinforced PA12 compound with high strain at break for injection molding. This is especially valuable for quick connectors, where the part must maintain precise geometry while locking tabs, clips and assembly features still need to tolerate deformation.
The PA12 matrix absorbs only small amounts of water. Components molded from VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC therefore maintain excellent dimensional accuracy under changing ambient humidity. This is important for precision connector housings, sealing interfaces and fluid-line components where dimensional variation can affect fit or leakage performance.
The 23% glass-fiber reinforcement increases stiffness, strength and heat resistance compared with unfilled PA12 while maintaining good low-temperature impact performance. Current data shows strong Charpy impact values even at -30°C and -40°C.
The grade is supplied in natural color and is laser absorbing, electrically insulating and fuel resistant. It is also identified as halogen-free, semi-crystalline, UV stabilized and medium viscosity.

Why Choose VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC?
The main reason to choose VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC is its balance of stiffness, toughness and dimensional stability.
Quick connectors are precision parts. Sealing surfaces, snap-fit features and locking geometries depend on controlled dimensions. The 23% glass-fiber reinforcement increases rigidity and reduces molding shrinkage, while the PA12 base limits humidity-related dimensional changes.
At the same time, the grade retains approximately 7% strain at break. This gives connector features useful deformation capability during assembly and helps avoid overly brittle behavior.
Low-temperature performance is another important advantage. Automotive components can experience severe winter conditions, and VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC retains strong impact values at -30°C and -40°C.
The grade is also heat stabilized, UV stabilized, fuel resistant and chemically stable. These characteristics make it suitable for automotive fluid-line connector environments.
Finally, the natural-color formulation provides flexibility where the part must be dyed or colored differently from a standard black component.
Processing Guidelines for VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC

| Pre-Drying Time | 2–4 hours |
| Target Processing Moisture | ≤0.1% |
| Melt Temperature | 240–280°C |
| Mold Temperature | 60–100°C |
| Feed Temperature | 40–60°C |
| Typical Zone 1 | 260°C |
| Typical Zone 2 | 255°C |
| Typical Zone 3 | 250°C |
| Typical Nozzle Temperature | 250°C |

| Circumferential Screw Speed | 0.05–0.20 m/s |
| Back Pressure | 0.3–0.8 MPa |
| Typical Holding Pressure | 7 MPa |
The grade is delivered as cylindrical granules in ready-to-process condition and packed in moisture-tight packaging.
If the original packaging remains intact, unnecessary drying should be avoided. If the pellets have absorbed moisture after opening, 80–100°C for 2–4 hours is the published pre-drying recommendation.
The melt-temperature window of 240–280°C and mold-temperature range of 60–100°C should be adjusted according to part geometry, wall thickness, flow length and gate design.
Because VESTAMID LC-GF23 NC contains 23% glass fiber, fiber orientation can influence local stiffness, shrinkage and impact behavior. Gate location and flow direction should therefore be considered carefully in quick-connector molds.
